Well, it's time to start reviews for 2013.  I have a handful of great smokes lined up for the first quarter of the year and starting off with this new offering from Miami Cigar & Co., the A& ntildeoranzas.  It had a showing at the 2012 ICPCR and was very well received.  I had seen this cigar at The Market several times over the past few months and for some reason passed on it.  Well, after reading a review at Seth's Humidor, I decided to have a go myself.  How was it?  Let's see....

Construction: This is a nice old world looking cigar.  Meaning that it isn't a glossy smooth wrapped beauty but rather a nice attractive rustic looking stick that you would expect to see someone smoking in the old west.  Personally, I love the look.

Pre-light Aroma and Draw: Out of the cellophane there are traces of sweet tobacco, barnyard hay, and grass.  These aromas certainly play off the rustic appearance.

Light and Burn: Clipping the triple cap is uneventful and the unlit draw was spot on.  A lightbulb went off in my head so I looked it up....blended and rolled at the My Father factory in Nicaragua, which explains the perfect draw.  This would also explain the perfect burn from start to finish.  I didn't have to touch up the burn once.  The ash is nice and firm and clings to the cigar for a long while before dropping.

Tasting:  Without a doubt, I can honestly say that this cigar would have made my top 10 if I had smoked it in 2012.  I picked up cream, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, spice, lemon zest, all nestled into a nice core of rich tobacco.  The Añoranzas is an amazing cigar!

Value: For about $7.50, you can't beat this value.  A box of ten robustos will run you about $50 online!  I am all over these!

Final Thoughts:  I was reading a terrific book while smoking this cigar and every time I came across a flavor it actually made me stop reading and take notice.  This is a cigar worth every accolade thrown at it.  Truly exceptional.  I very highly recommend this cigar.
