On my list of all time favorite cigars....in the top three actually....sits the Graycliff Professsionale.  Because of the ridiculously insane price they go for (around $20 a piece), not to mention the scarcity of them in my area, I am always on the lookout for cheaper Graycliff offerings that can provide the same crazy good experience.  So far, I have been disenchanted in this search....So during our little getaway to Gatlinburg, imagine my shock at finding a brand new Graycliff from this year's IPCPR show.  Needless to say, I grabbed one for a review.  How was it?  Let's see....

Construction: Graycliff cigars are always gorgeous.  Honestly, looking at the B-Cuz, I was thinking it looks like a typical Graycliff with a smaller and less elegant band.  You could put the standard red or blue label on there and nobody would know the difference.  That is saying something.

Pre-light Aroma and Draw: A nice sweet floral tobacco and hay-like aroma hits the nose out of the cellophane.    I was a bit annoyed that the cello didn't fold under the cigar for better protection.  The opening extends just past the foot.  I just barely snipped off the cap and the cold draw was flawless - the norm for every Graycliff I have had.

Light and Burn: With two matches and a couple of puffs of air the B-Cuz lights up easily.  The burn was about 90% flawless as the smoke progressed.  Only had to touch up a little.

Tasting: Starting out spicy, this baby really smooths out into a juicy and rather delicious smoke.  I picked up a very nice sweet woody flavor with a hint of lemon peel around a great creamy coffee and tobacco core.  For a bargain stick from a manufacturer up there with Davidoff in terms of typical price, I am shocked at how wonderful  this cigar is.

Value: The price from Graycliff is supposed to be around $7.50....I paid just over $10 from a shop in Gatlinburg that had other Graycliffs for easily $11 over market value....so yes I overpaid but still...it was worth the extra three clams.

Final Thoughts: After years of searching, I have found it.  A Graycliff that won't break the bank and provides 90% of the experience received when smoking one of their ultra-priced cigars.  I did have a few construction issues with this particular cigar into the final third.  Cracking wrapper issues specifically.  I am thinking it was just stored improperly.  The usual Indonesian wrapper that covers most of the high priced Graycliff cigars is quite thin and this Ecuadorian counterpart is as well, but I am not really too upset.  The cigar is absolutely stellar.  Do yourself a favor and pick up one or twenty one of these babies....You won't be sorry.  I highly recommend this cigar!
