Here we have the 7th entry on the top 25 of 2011....The Cabaiguan Guapos.  Of my three purchases from SeriousCigars.com, I was most excited about this big monster.  The standard Cabaiguan marked a 98 from me this past Summer, so I was expecting something as eventful this go-around.  Let's get right  to it....

Construction: The Guapos is gorgeous.  No doubt about it, this cigar is a thing of beauty.  Topped with a triple cap and flag pigtail, I had to take a zillion pictures of this baby just so I could stare at them and reminisce in the weeks to come.

Pre-light Aroma and Draw: Out of the cellophane, the Guapos gives up a sweet tobacco, earth, and spice aroma.  The draw is flawless as I expected....I mean, this thing is rolled by the expert torcedors at the My Father factory in Nicaragua, so anything less and I would have been shocked.

Light and Burn: Two matches....just two...and the Guapos, in all its 54 ring glory blazed to life in an instant.  The burn was surgical until I got into the last inch.  Just a perfect performer.  The ash is very light gray and solid.  No cone either.  As I approached the last third - when a Tatuaje usually heats up, the Guapos stayed cool and easy to smoke until I had to put it out....which again left a sadness in the soul.

Tasting: Ok, here we go....Black pepper, coffee, tons of cedar, and cocoa to the tune of devils food cake.  I was reminded of chocolate cupcakes.  While not as pronounced as the yellow cake I experienced in the Cabaiguan I blogged about previously, still the Guapos is a delicious cigar with a very Cuban-like profile.  I can see myself puffing on these regularly.

Value: I paid $11 for a single Guapos.  Not cheap but not so hateful on the budget.  For a special cigar, that price tag is really decent.

Final Thoughts: So, the Guapos comes in as a very enjoyable cigar.  I need to go back to the source and try another few of these....they are just so darned good.  The flavors are complex and the construction is rock solid.  Very highly recommended!

You can tell by this photo....the Guapos is beautiful.  The oily sheen just makes the mouth water.
